the strings part in the harry potter soundtrack is quite difficult - rapid scales up and down, arpeggios and lots of really fast passages for the violins. find it a lot nicer and more interesting to listen to than the star wars soundtrack.
li's birthday surprise at island creamery went well (: met eu, liana, jong and sarah there at about 2 pm and bought li a reverso ice cream cake. li was totally unsuspecting and was surprised to see liana, jong and me there, haha. did lots of catching up while demolishing the dark chocolate ice cream. quite a few photos too, which have become many of our fb profile pics, haha. it was so good to see everyone again (: we've already semi-planned our next gathering.
finished bio essay worksheets 1 and 2, and math homework. left all the IAs - bio 18, chem 17 (i'm doing it now) and 18, econs 3. and world lit topic. oh darn.
have to be at school before 7 am tomorrow. meeting our ogs.
just read one of nat wong's posts about the things she misses most. mostly about mg.
like how liana, jaime, julia and sandra would have their see-who-can-drink-the-most-number-of-cups-of-milo every time the milo van came - and then would request to go to the toilet 'urgently' during math lesson after recess.
ms june tan's jelts signatures on our lit worksheets. red bowl noodles. wash feet soup (what an insult). starting to sit down without permission during long prize presentations and influencing the rest of the school to sit down as well. lunchbox day! complaining about school food. mr liu's crazy physics experiments. laughing so hard during bio class about the randomest things.
writing random stuff on the board. scribbling rubbish in each other's diaries. taking jump shots. looongest day campfire. going to ivin's and acting out our emily of emerald hill scenes. sec 1 yunnan trip! sec 2 kl trip. sec 3 aus sabbaticals (:
sec 2 adventure camp - of cemeteries, hornets, baby rats, frogs. sec 3 obs - having to sleep in our tent over a huge tree root. hey i still remember the primary 4 spark c camp at east coast. we had to write an adjective before our names, starting with the first letter of our names. mine was 'nice nicole'. HAHA how stupid.
in primary school, how i used to play hopscotch with lauren tan and jaime chong almost every recess in the concourse. in sec 3, mrs raj jokingly referring to boys as 'the other species'. mr tay's story about how the previous class broke his sphygmomanometer (spelling?). the euler lecture in sec 3 about the great rhombicosidodecahedron. our identity kit in sec 1! jap classes from sec 1 to 2. jong and i walking up the staircase in sec 2 and seeing akashi sensei. 'nicole san, joanne san, ogenki desca.'
*look at each other* '...erm what's ogenki..'
akashi: 'ogenki means how are you doing'.
'oh oh! yeah, uh, we're good!'
'genki des.'
'hehe.'
and sec 2 jap class. momoko sensei! and jong's hilarious chinese interpretation of it. we were just talking about in island creamery yesterday, haha.
nat wong falling asleep and staying asleep during orch rehearsal when the entire orch was playing. mr chan's glare. ahma kicking nat wong. making faces at each other during rehearsal. complaining about primary school kids who pushed us so much during recess. blue and yellow long benches. fear of uncle hock seng. the straw-cutting. the time in sec 1 when we had to ask permission before drinking water during history class.
clapping for primary school girls who did cartwheels outside their classrooms. scaring them away from outside our classroom because they made so much noise. our embarrassing class performances on stage. fail. haha. but it was quite funny, all the same. i miss mg (:
so fun to listen to the harry potter soundtrack. really love the strings, especially the violins.
